Researchers are responsible for securing copyright permission from the author when duplicating any unpublished or published works included in the collection. The collection was donated to the Browne Popular Culture Library beginning in 1999, with an addition in 2014, and has no restrictions placed upon its use for scholarly purposes. The manuscripts include primarily historic and contemporary horror novels and some western, science fiction, and romantic suspense.
